Fake Watches

I was looking to buy a watch that I saw at a watch stand for 30% off at the mall. I have found it for %40 off on line at a few places. I started to wonder if it is authentic. This one store, florenceadams.com, has a real nice video about why I should buy from them. Then it has a story about their storefront with pictures and a map. I went to Google Maps and found a run down building. How old can the picture be? I zoomed in on cars, and they were not that old.

I recently bought a watch from overstock.com, and now I wonder a little bit about that. Google: fake watch overstock.com. The first result is a watch that has been on sale since 2008. That’s a long time for an item at Overstock. Check out this review page http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/ESQ-Simone-Womens-Diamond-Steel-Watch/2202741/product.html with this review from August 21st, 2008.

I bought this watch for my wife’s first Mothers Day, and she loved it. A few weeks ago the side of one of the links fell off so I took it into a jeweler to have it fixed and they discovered it was not a real ESQ but a fake. Overstock is giving me a full refund and was horrified to discover one of their products was not authentic so I don’t blame them. Just don’t buy this watch!

Just like this guy, I bought it for my significant other. Overstock does not even seem to care, notice, or remove it.

So, I go to the Citizen Watch Web Site, and they do not seem to keep a lot of info about their retailers. None of the places at the mall that I would trust are listed. How would I know where that watch stand gets their products?

The watch I want is no longer being made, and it seems to fit my personality and style more than any watch I have ever had before. However, I don’t know where to get it.

I also noticed that a few of the watches on line have the same face, but different watch hands.

UPDATE: I found the chamber of commerce for the city that Florence Adams is in, and e-mailed them. The picture was taken during remodeling. They told me that they are a very reputable store. However, they did say that they have never seen watches sold there.

I think I will purchase from them, and try to find out the authenticity of the watch.

UPDATE 2: I got my watch in, and I love it. If it was a fake, it would be a very good one. I think I might need to stop being so paranoid!

Reddit Users Suck, and Bioware is Shady

I recently rented Mass Effect 2 for my Xbox 360, and I learned that I would not be getting any of the free DLC for the game. When you purchase the game, you get a code to join the Cerberus Network. If I wanted to do so, it would cost me about $15 worth of MS points. I do not see any purpose for the network other than getting DLC, and making Bioware more money.

There was an article on Reddit which went on to give out promo codes you get when buying Dr. Peppper for free DLC. I tried it, and I found out that once again, I am not going to get any free DLC because of Cerberus. People’s reaction there makes no sense to me.

If it is just a few bucks, than why don’t these people spend the $1.50 on a Dr. Pepper, and how can nobody see that this could be the beginning of a trend in video games? They could ship games with a good portion of it missing to stifle used game sales and rentals.
